Officially a University Grad…

June 4th, 2009

Hard to believe the last two academic years have come and gone so quickly. As I sat on the stage at Convocation yesterday, I spent most of the time reflecting on the last couple years, and what they meant in terms of personal accomplishment. As I looked around, I never thought I’d be sitting on that stage. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t proud of myself for persevering through the rough times and completing what I started. The first two weeks in September of 2007, had you asked me my thoughts on University – I would have likely told you I was ready to pack it in. “It wasn’t for me” or some other lame excuse. To be honest, I was terrified of failure which is a better part of the reason why I stuck things out. If it weren’t for a great support network of classmates, friends and family – I really don’t think I would have stuck it out. As I walked across the stage and looked out into the sea of people, it was a real treat to see my family there as they were such a great source of support and encouragement over my time at Trent. All that being said, here I am – Finished.

I owe alot of my success to this gal below.  It was a real treat having her around these last couple years. We’re alot alike, spending so much time together this past year really brought us closer together and her friendship is something I don’t take for granted. I’m already looking forward to next year when I get to attend her Convocation. Thanks for all you did Bethany!

So, with that, this just may be my last blog entry tagged with the “school” category and I feel pretty good about that.
