October 2008 Archive

back to it

October 27th, 2008

So reading week came and went. It’s hard to believe the semester is this far gone, but it’s for the best… my “fast-forwarding” to december is happening. It’s grand. There is lots to do these next couple weeks, I am sure to be quite busy… overwhelmed even. But alas, ’tis the life of a student.

are generally a huge disappointment, and last night was no different. I had a huge rant typed and almost posted it last night – but decided not to. I re-read my thoughts, and while they were coherent and while I feel no different today, I’ll just sum it up by saying:

I am disappointed with you Canada.

But on a positive note – happy birthday Bethany!

Fall

October 6th, 2008

Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year. I love colour, I love the cool evenings and walking the dog with a sweater on. I hate, however, what is just around the corner, and that we will soon begin our annual affair with what Canada is most well known for – no no, not an election (of which, seems like it’s becoming an annual trend) I’m talking about winter. I do not like the time change – the dark evenings, and dark mornings… The whole “fall-behind” in time change, seems to apply to almost all areas of my life, like fall behind in school work as I perpetually fall behind in sleep. As I fall behind in both of those areas, I fall behind in the time that I get to spend with friends, family and my wife.

However, I’m thankful for Thanksgiving (redundant?) I’m glad for the weekend off, as well as the upcoming reading week, where I can hopefully play some leap forward on many of my fall behinds.

Anyway, that’s it – this Database class is over, my laptop battery is almost dead.
