on the eve of our departure

July 31st, 2008

I’m sitting with eudora in our beloved victoria park waiting for megan to come home on a beautiful sunny summer day.

Summer, it feels nice to use that word… Its been a long time coming. We’re off to NB either tomorrow evening or early (2am’ish) Saturday. It will depend on how we’re feeling after both working tomorrow.

Just wanted to remind you, if you aren’t already, follow me on twitter. I’ll keep you updated along our journeys. If you are following me, be prepared for early morning random texts…

FINALLY…

July 29th, 2008

Lets start summer. Ok, so it’s only a month… But it’s going to be a pretty care-free month for me. Yeah, I’l work a few shifts at the shop, but man, I can’t wait to hit the east coast and get my golf on.

Here’s to summer vacation *raises glass*

When our dog is upset with us…

July 23rd, 2008

We know right away, and this is how:

If you have ever been guests at our place, and have gone to use the washroom, you may have noticed that unlike most people, we intentionally leave the toilet paper off the roll. You will usually find it on the tank behind you, but rarely is it ever on the holder itself. Why you ask? Well… When Megan and I go to work, our dog is usually not happy about us leaving her, and she finds ways of expressing her discontent. One of her favorite ways, is by pulling the toilet paper off the roll, and dragging it into the family room so it is the FIRST thing we see when we walk through the door. It is her full intention of showing you her displeasure with our actions, and we instantly know. If it’s not toilet paper, it’s something else she’s gotten into, and she make sure that she has it displayed proudly so that when we walk through the door, you know right away she was not impressed.

Needless to say, I came home this morning to this… Clearly, Eudora was not impressed with us leaving. So Steph and Jer, we put the toilet paper on the roll for you as our guests last night. I hope you appreciated it, because this is why we normally don’t do that. :)

Yadda yadda, something something, ok.

Over half way through the month, almost half way through the year. Hard to believe.

So, incase anyone was wondering (and didn’t see my update via twitter. I managed to pass algebra with a 50. Yeah, that’s right, fifty bang on the nose. Was it a mercy pass? probably… but it’s done, so take that, and take it I will. I’ve got about a week left in my Probability & Intro to Info Sys class, which I think I’m doing fairly well in both, so I’m not too worried. 1.5 credits down in the summer means only 4 classes per semester for the fall/winter – and since 1 full credit (0.5 each semester) is dedicated to my final year project, I’ve only got 3 classes each semester. I’m feeling pretty good about that. I’m also feeling good about only having one year left, that feels really good.

So we’re off to Fredericton for our semi-anual vacation/visit with megan’s family in two weeks. Unfortunately, we’re going to be out-of-province for our good friend Jerry’s wedding. Sorry we’re going to be missing it bro, but we do wish you two the best and send our love. It’ll be nice to have the month of August off before heading back to class in the fall.

In other news, the past couple months megan and I have been attending a home church at our neighbours place and have been enjoying it immensely. More to follow on that later, but it’s exciting stuff… and we’re really excited about it. Exciting isn’t it? I bet your excited too.

Ok, I’ve exhausted my excitement for the evening. I’m off to bed.
